制造业企业服务化对企业韧性的影响研究

摘要:企业韧性是企业抵御破坏性事件冲击并从冲击中快速恢复和创造新机会的能力。在高动荡性与高不确定性的乌卡时代,企业韧性对制造业企业的生存与可持续发展至关重要。然而,制造业企业为摆脱同质化困境、满足不断升级的消费需求所进行的服化转型能否提升企业韧性有待进一步探究。基于服务主导逻辑和动态能力理论,以2018—2023年沪深A股制造业上市公司为研究样本,本文考察制造业企业服务化对企业韧性的影响及作用机制。研究发现,制造业企业服务化能够提升企业韧性,该结论在经过一系列内生性和稳健性检验后依然成立。机制分析表明,服务化通过推动组织惯例更新提升企业韧性。交互效应分析表明,绩效期望顺差强化了服务化对企业韧性的提升作用,但绩效期望落差削弱了服务化对企业韧性的提升作用。异质性分析结果显示,服务化对企业韧性的影响因服务化类型、所在地区以及要素密集度的不同而具有异质性。本文的研究结论为制造业企业通过服务化变革提升企业韧性提供了理论指导与策略参考。

Impact of Servitization on Firm Resilience in Manufacturing Enterprises

Abstract: Firm resilience is the ability of firms to resist the impact of destructive events, quickly recover from interruptions, and create new opportunities. In the era of high volatility and high uncertainty, firm resilience is crucial to the survival and sustained development of manufacturing enterprises. A growing number of manufacturing enterprises are undergoing servitization to adapt to the constantly changing environment and enhance organizational resilience. However, whether the servitization can enhance firm resilience remains a subject for further inquiry. However, existing research has not yet adequately explored whether and how servitization influences firm resilience. Therefore, it is imperative for manufacturing enterprises to focus on the economic effects of servitization in the context of the normalization of crisis. In the volatile and complex business landscape, an in-depth investigation into the impact of servitization on firm resilience holds theoretical and practical importance for formulating strategic decisions and building sustainable competitive advantages.

Grounded in the service-dominant logic and dynamic capability theory, this paper investigates the impact of servitization on firm resilience and its underlying mechanisms, using a sample of A-share listed manufacturing enterprises in China from 2018 to 2023. The findings demonstrate that servitization enhances firm resilience, and the conclusion remains robust after endogeneity treatments and robustness tests. Mechanism analysis indicates that servitization bolsters firm resilience by fostering the renewal of organizational routines. Tests for interaction effects reveal that a positive attainment discrepancy strengthens the positive relationship between servitization and firm resilience, whereas a negative attainment discrepancy weakens it. Heterogeneity analysis shows that the positive impact is more pronounced in firms with customer-oriented servitizaion, as well as non-state-owned firms, firms in the eastern and central regions, and labour-intensive firms.

The main contributions of this paper are threefold. Firstly, grounded in the service-dominant logic, this paper examines the impact of servitization on firm resilience in the Chinese context, extending the scope of servitization research. Secondly, by integrating the service-dominant logic with the dynamic capabilities perspective, this paper elucidates the intrinsic mechanism through which servitization enhances firm resilience. Specifically, it analyzes the role of organizational routines renewal in the relationship between servitization and firm resilience, thereby providing new insights into this relationship. Lastly, this paper identifies the boundary conditions of the effect of servitization on firm resilience. By incorporating attainment discrepancy into the analytical framework, it examines the role of internal operating conditions in the relationship between servitization and firm resilience and elucidates their differential impact mechanisms, deepening the understanding of the interaction between servitization and firm resilience.
