工业互联网平台资源重构机制研究——基于广度与深度的双重视角

内容提要:新工业革命背景下传统企业如何利用工业互联网平台进行组织重构具有现实紧迫性。本文基于工业互联网平台广度与深度双重视角,构建企业市场感知能力通过平台连通性和兼容性增强资源重构能力的多重中介模型,并采用214名管理者的调研数据进行实证检验。研究结果表明:市场感知能力促使企业提高资源整合重构能力;企业除了通过工业互联网平台累积的海量数据提高连通性,在数据挖掘基础上满足潜在需求之外,还可以通过平台赋能的泛在化连接增强技术层面与组织层面的兼容性,从而助推企业实现组织重构;工业互联网平台的连通性和兼容性在市场感知与组织重构之间起中介作用。本文研究结论拓展了工业互联网平台的理论研究,为企业利用工业互联网平台实现数字化转型重构提供参考借鉴。

Resource Reconfiguration Mechanism of Industrial Internet Platform
—A Dual Perspective Based on Breadth and Depth

  Abstract: In the context of the new industrial revolution, it is of utmost urgency for traditional enterprises to leverage industrial Internet platforms for organizational restructuring. However, few studies are from the participants' perspective or with platform participants as the object. Therefore, based on the platform ecosystem and the diffusion of innovation theory, this paper develops a multiple mediation model, aiming to explore how the market-sensing capability of enterprises enhances their resource reconfiguration ability through the connectivity and compatibility empowered by the platform. Then, it conducts an empirical analysis using survey data from 214 managers.

  The findings are as follows. First, the market-sensing capability exerts a significant positive impact on the enterprise's ability to integrate and restructure resources, indicating that a keen awareness of market changes promotes resource integration and organizational restructuring. Second, the breadth of the industrial Internet platform, referring to the platform's ability to empower connectivity, partially mediates the relationship between the market-sensing capability and the resource reconfiguration ability. This suggests that the platform's pervasive connectivity enables enterprises to access information and resources better, thereby enhancing their reconfiguration ability. Third, the depth of the industrial Internet platform, encompassing the platform’s ability to empower technological and organizational compatibility, also partially mediates the relationship between the market-sensing capability and the resource reconfiguration ability. This underscores the vital role of platform-enabled system integration and process integration in organizational restructuring. The findings expand the theoretical research in the context of industrial Internet platforms and provide valuable insights and practical guidance for enterprises to achieve digital transformation through leveraging industrial Internet platforms.

  The theoretical contributions of this paper are as follows. First, it develops a multiple mediation model between market-sensing capability and resource reconfiguration ability, opening the "black box" of enterprises' allocation of resources to seize market opportunities, and enriches the theoretical study of organizational agility in the context of digitization. Second, it constructs the process of manufacturing enterprises employing the digital support provided by the industrial Internet platform to rapidly perceive and respond to customer needs and adapt to environmental changes, which offers new ideas for expanding the participant’s perspective in the study of the industrial Internet platform. Third, it analyzes the relationship between dimensions of dynamic capability (market sensing and resource reconfiguration), enriching the theoretical research on the dynamic capability of enterprises in the digital era.
