Abstract: In the context of an increasingly complex market environment, maintaining stable operations and achieving sustained growth has become a critical issue in corporate governance. Entrepreneurship, as a core element for sustaining long-term competitive advantage, plays a key role in building corporate resilience. Meanwhile, with the ongoing wave of digital-intelligence transformation (DIT), digital technologies have increasingly become essential tools for firms to respond to external shocks, optimize resource allocation, and enhance organizational efficiency. In this context, entrepreneurship functions as an internal driver of corporate resilience by promoting technology adoption, organizational restructuring, and managerial change. Therefore, systematically investigating how entrepreneurship influences corporate resilience through DIT not only deepens the understanding of resilience mechanisms but also provides practical guidance for firms in navigating complex environments and optimizing strategic decision-making.

This paper uses panel data from A-share listed firms in China from 2010 to 2022 as the research sample to systematically examine the impact of entrepreneurship on corporate resilience and the mediating role of DIT through both theoretical analysis and empirical testing. The findings reveal that entrepreneurship can enhance corporate resilience. This conclusion remains valid after a series of endogeneity and robustness tests. Mechanism analysis indicates that this positive effect operates by leading DIT, and digital economy policies further strengthen this effect. Heterogeneity analysis demonstrates that the enhancement is more pronounced in non-state-owned firms, large firms, and high-tech firms, and is also more evident among firms operating in highly competitive industries, and those located in eastern regions and areas with a favorable business environment.

The marginal contributions of this paper are threefold. First, it integrates entrepreneurship and corporate resilience into a unified analytical framework, enriching existing research perspectives and providing a clearer theoretical basis for understanding how firms maintain stable operations and sustained competitive advantages in complex environments. Second, by explicitly incorporating DIT as a core mechanism, this paper systematically examines the interactions among entrepreneurship, DIT, and corporate resilience. At the same time, it reveals the external incentive role of digital economy policies in promoting entrepreneurship-led DIT. These findings provide theoretical support for understanding the formation mechanisms of corporate resilience and offer practical guidance for accelerating firms’DIT. Third, this paper develops a heterogeneity analysis framework based on firm characteristics and external environmental conditions. This framework allows for a systematic examination of the differentiated effects of entrepreneurship on corporate resilience and provides empirical evidence and managerial implications for designing context-specific resilience-building strategies and tailoring government policies to different types of firms.
