数字经济赋能区域绿色发展的低碳减排效应

内容提要:本文基于扩展的STIRPAT方程和环境库兹涅茨曲线等理论,利用中国省级面板数据解析数字经济对区域碳排放的影响。研究结果表明:数字经济发展能够显著降低区域碳排放水平,且该结果在经过一系列稳健性检验后仍然成立。就其作用机制而言,数字经济能够通过提高能源利用效率和优化能源消费结构的方式降低区域碳排放。进一步考虑数字经济低碳减排效应的空间关联特征后发现,数字经济不仅可以推动本地区实现低碳发展,同时也有助于降低邻近地区的碳排放。非线性关系检验表明,在研究时段内,数字经济对区域碳排放的影响在整体上已经跨越环境库兹涅茨曲线的顶点,即中国当前的数字经济发展已经进入低碳减排阶段。伴随经济发展水平的演变,数字经济对区域碳排放的负向影响存在显著的单门槛效应。当地区经济发展水平跨越门槛值后,数字经济的低碳减排效应呈现边际递增特征。

Low-carbon Emission Reduction Effect of Digital Economy Empowering Regional Green Development

  Abstract: Based on the extended STIRPAT equation and the environmental Kuznets curve, this paper analyzes the impact of the digital economy on regional carbon emissions using the provincial panel data in China. The findings show that, even after a series of robustness tests, the development of the digital economy can significantly lower the level of regional carbon emissions. In terms of the mechanism, the digital economy can empower regional low-carbon development by improving energy utilization efficiency and optimizing energy consumption structure. Furthermore, considering the spatial correlation characteristics of the emission reduction effect of the digital economy, it is found that the digital economy can not only promote low-carbon development within the region, but also help reduce carbon emissions in neighboring regions. The nonlinear relationship test reveals that the impact of the digital economy on regional carbon emissions overall crossed the apex of the environmental Kuznets curve in the research period, that is, China's digital economy development enters the carbon emission reduction stage. With the evolution of the economic development level, there is a significant single-threshold effect on the negative impact of the digital economy on regional carbon emissions. When the regional economic development level crosses the threshold, the carbon emission reduction effect of the digital economy presents a marginal increase.
